A general packing list of consumables and tools for vehicle installs.

Consumables

Screws - Self-tapping 8 × 3/4 - Self-tapping 8-18 × 1 1/2 - Assorted wood screws

Bolts - 10-24 × 1, 10-24 × 2 - Lock washers, washers, nuts

Ring terminals (blue, for 16–14 Ga wire) - #8 (the tiny ones — used for bus bars) - 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch (common sizes in a bus fuse box) - 1/2 inch (for a battery bolt)

Fuses (all 10 amp) - Mini blade — APT / Micro2 (the small ones where the teeth almost touch) - Mini ATM (the standard in buses) - Low-profile Mini ATM - ATO/ATC (the big ones)

Miscellaneous - 7/8 inch grommets - 8 inch zip ties - Butt connectors (yellow, red, blue) - Plastic spacers for angling cameras - Electrical tape, silicone caulk - 14 Ga wire (red, black, yellow)

Tools

Primary — drill, impact driver

Drill & driver bits — Phillips #2, square #2, 7/8" and 1" hole saws (plus larger), step bit (1/8" increments), extra-long drill bit

Electrical — strippers, crimpers, cutters, socket set

Miscellaneous — rag, headlamp, coat hanger, wire-fishing rods, tape measure, step ladder, larger ladder, ethernet cables, spare GPS for splicing, monitor + power supply (monitor input VGA, DVR output VGA, power supply DC5521)

Radio installs — special crimpers, yellow ring terminals

Specialty installs — wire channels (for hiding wire when you can't get into the wall), small boxes for hiding connectors near cameras, a small inline power button (when you can't reach switched power)
